As Manufacturing Industrialisation Engineer, you will be working on a range of key projects you will be a pivotal member of the manufacturing team driving and supporting volume ramp up through your process development expertise and experience of automation of manual processes.

You will also drive and lead improvements in shop floor layouts and industry best practise. There is considerably autonomy for you to make a real impact on manufacturing operations and you will have the full backing of the senior team.

Utilising your in-depth experience of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Value Engineering and analysis you will ensure that new products can be successfully translated from initial conceptual design, prototype and initial early-stage manufacture into high volume, repeatable production units.

You will specifically identify way to improve current processes and automation as well and driving CAPEX projects to automate currently manual assembly processes to meet high volumes.

As Manufacturing Industrialisation Engineer supporting leading-edge projects your responsibilities will include:

Working on projects from initial concept through to final release identifying opportunities and strategies for ease of manufacture, process development and manufacturing automation.

  • Undertaking CAPEX projects – identifying initial needs and then working with the internal automation team and external companies to bring in new equipment.
  • Lean manufacturing / Continuous Improvement / Process Development - You will play a key role in identifying and delivering ongoing improvements.
  • Support the setup of new productions lines and development of manufacturing processes to ensure projects / production is delivered on time and on cost.
  • Oversee initial prototype builds
  • Lead and participate in product DFM, Design for Manufacture workshops
  • Drive the implementation of Improvement projects to deliver sustainable ongoing improvements, utilising lean tools and techniques such as KPI analysis, Pareto, FMEA etc

To succeed in this key role, you will need to be an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, ideally with experience of working in a fast paced automotive or motorsport manufacturing environment and:

  • Industrialisation / Volume ramp up experience / understanding of design for assembly and manufacturing consideration required for high-volume manufacture
  • Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing expertise (experience leading and driving teams to deliver improvements)
  • Prior experience of automating manual assembly processes
  • DFA – Design for Assembly experience
  • Have hands-on experience with special purpose / bespoke equipment and tooling
